UNDISCLOSED CAMPUS LIFE
Immediately after successful passing your final national exams, you are happy to join University/College which is everyone's dream or wish. Choosing your career course and then wait for University admission letter is not a big thing, but the question is how is University or college do test? You become so anxious and started picturing how it might be. Here I would like to share with you my distilled campus experience and how the life have been.
My first year of University presents alot of new experience for instance associating with new faces, feeling away from home, planning my own time and many others.
I remember vividly when I was almost to joining the University (Technical University of Mombasa) which I have been called to go an chnical University of Mombasa) which I have been called to go and pursue the course of my career, I made sure that d pursue the course of my career, I made sure that everything which I will be in need of in this new life was well prepared. Having in mind what my High School teachers were usually telling us about a sweet life in campus, I was so eager to experiencing and leading such an enjoyable life since I already got a hint that in campus,I would not only go and study but also to have a chance of indulging freely in my hobbies and connecting with people from a spectrum of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
When the time of admission came, we were randomly picked and put in a new hostel where you could find yourself having been placed to live with a person whom you are not related to. This came with both benefits and challenges but since both of us were looking strange to each other, I had to mark myself as a man enough and there I get along together with my roommate and we gradually adopted and enhanced our early Campus life. As soon as the time goes by, I interacted with many friends from various diverse places to whom some of them were my course-mates and there we confide, keep each other with company as well as welcoming a free life.
The time for lectures commence and besides it,my friends and I had planned on having a ride to Diani Beach where we could go to swim, take photos and later refresh ourselves in one of the big tourist's hotel there. It was here when my minds get divided on whether to take studies first or to entertain myself since the academic journey was still far. I sat down and thought twice to myself and later on come with a solution that education has to be my first priority knowing that being a book warmer is very important when it comes to career development because that is what I will be handling for the rest of my life.
Earlier on while still at home, I thought that at campus, I would dress myself in my own choice as well as making "Balloteli" hairstyle but I came to realize that I was wrong since the kind of course which I am pursuing do requires one to groom very well and look very sparkling. My lecturers were the one who influenced me positively on how to be a good student despite the fact that I am already an adult who by constitution deserves a universal suffrage and have freedom of everything. Having Mr. Billy who we normally rank as our elder brother as my lecturer, he was so responsible for educating us a number of academic units as well as having the capability of becoming a friend,a mentor and my lifelong influence. Not forgetting a lecturer by the name Mrs. Eve whose her consistency did drove us crazy. She could tell us that anyone who came class late or 10 minutes after she had entered the lecture hall would dance in front of the class or narrate a poem something which made many of us to get a bit scared of.
This is just but a summary of my campus experience. Now I wanna ask you about your campus life, how's it driving you? If you haven't join, what are your expectations about University or College life?
