A BIG BLOW FOR CHELSEA AS KEY PLAYER SET TO MISS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CLASH
Chelsea's manager Frank Lampard was forced to remove his key midfield player,Ng'olo Kante following an early knock just after 13 minutes during the premier league clash against Manchester United at Stamford bridge on Monday night.
Chelsea who suffered a demoralizing defeat of 2-0 to 20 times EPL champions have been unfortunate this season following their transfer ban and injury attacks to their key players. Frenchman Ng'olo Kante was added to an injury list of players including Callum Hudson Odoi, Tammy Abraham, Christian Pulisic, Emerson Palmieri and Ruben-Loftus Cheek.
The Blues who are currently sitting on position Four with 41 points, one point ahead of their arch rivals Tottenham Hot Spurs has a classic queue of consecutive big games coming up against them. The next Premier league game for the UEFA Europa Champions will be against Mourinho's side,Spurs on Saturday before they welcome German giants Bayern Munich on Tuesday in a UEFA Champions league clash.
Chelsea who finished second on Group H behind Valencia and above last season semi-finalist, Ajax , will host Blaugrana in the first leg of their last-16 tie on Tuesday 25th February with the second leg fixture set to take place three weeks later at Allianza Arena,Munich.
The reigning Bundesliga champions are seen as favorites to win the match against Lampard side due to the fact that Chelsea are being led by an inexperience Manager who depends majorly on young- inexperience players.
